Why I am giving marijuana to my 9-year-old autistic son.
This is pretty interesting story from 2009. The title pretty much explains it all, but maybe reading their story you can see one more reason to reform Marijuana Laws. I cant begin to imagine how this condition has affected the life of this child, but to hear that THC has offered some time to be a free kid is enough reason for me to stand so firm on the issue. To think there is finally a medication safe for children that they can take 1.without even knowing and 2. without any side effects or worry of over dose. The only thing you'd have to worry about is a really happy really hungry kid maybe your lucky and your kid is a sleeper and what parent wouldn't be happy with that! I'm not a parent so I cant give my personal opinion from that point; but I feel if i had a child that was ill I'd rather give my child a brownie or tea than some pill or rank liquid whose chemical makeup i couldn't even begin to understand. I know parenting is a very touchy subject but I really believe that proper education will lead to proper judgement. So its a parents job to properly educate a child on the proper ways of medicating and the consequences of abusing that medication. & considering what medication now a days does, i feel kids are safer medicating with marijuana anyways.
