We all would want marijuana to be harmless. The sad truth is that's not reality and if you don't accept that then you need to stop because your already having severe mental damage and most likely out of touch with reality.
I find it disturbing that the author of the article would clearly be able to state what he considers a ‘ valid argument’ for parents struggling with experimenting teens. All I can say is his kids must smoke! There is no way and I speak as a kid that agreeing is going to change the mind of a kid! To reach children you must be able to educate and reach on an equal level! The parent that believes arguments end curiosity is full of BULLSHIT ! Education and regulation will end child curiosity!
I as an individual have been educated and cont. to be & have taken the choice to risk the mental damage. WHY? Well for this reason: I am a mind over matter type of person. I feel being like this has helped me in many ways control the majority of hypothesized ‘effects’. Now I understand that mental effects will occur no matter what after prolonged use (which this study fails to mention) but what about all the different tools that have been implemented to help the elderly with memory loss?
I see it like this: Marijuana cause short term and POSSIBLY( note the choice of words) long term memory loss although scientists are not exactly clear how this happens they feel the need to brainwash and frighten society into believing only the bad. Why hasn’t the suggestion been made that marijuana user should keep their brain active or play memory games? Could it be that the effects could be reversed by simply keeping the brain active? Hmmm I wish more studies were funded for marijuana research… I feel there could be MAJOR breakthroughs in health and society.
